ReplyDeleteThe billionaire owner of Chelsea football club has had to face the reality that there are things beyond the reach of Russian oligarchs as he was carried to safety after experiencing breathing problems during a failed attempt to ascend the mountain in Tanzania last week.
ReplyDeleteThe 42-year-old invited a group of six friends to scale the 19,330ft summit of Africa’s highest mountain. They took with them no fewer than 113 porters to make sure they wanted for nothing. However, due perhaps to time constraints rather than arrogance, they failed to train properly to cope with the altitude.

ReplyDeleteChelsea fans emerged as England's richest - dwarfing City supporters' bank balances with a typical pay packet of £31,435 a year.
They also live the life, with a set of wheels worth an average £17,000 and a house worth around £202,000.
Second place in the Football Fan Rich List were Tottenham Hotspur supporters, followed by their arch-rivals at Arsenal.
Fans of newly-promoted Burnley came bottom of the league.

A spokesman for football prediction game site BeatBarry.com, who commissioned the survey, said: "Manchester City followers need to up their game if they want to be in the same league as Chelsea fans.
"They might have rich owners who can splash out their cash on the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and Carlos Tevez - but they need to look after their pennies.
"It's no surprise to see Chelsea up at the top, along with the other big London clubs.
"They have a loyal fan base with supporters around the country and obviously have some money to spend. There does seem to be a north/south divide, with those nearer the Big Smoke having more money to treat themselves on cars, holidays and nights out."
MANCHESTER City may be the richest club in the world - but their fans are among the poorest in Britain.
Supporters of the mega-rich Eastlands outfit - who have shelled out nearly £100million in summer transfers - came a lowly third from bottom in a study to find Britain's wealthiest fans.
