His Excellency Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania has sent a condolence message to His Excellency Jens Stoltenberg, Prime Minister of Norway following the terrorist attacks occurred in Oslo and Utoya Island on 22nd July, 2011.
In his statement, the President said he has received with shock and profound sorrow the news of the massacre at Utoeya Island Youth Camp and a bombing in Oslo that occurred on 22nd July, 2011, in which more than seventy people were killed and several others injured.
On behalf of the Government and People of the United Republic of Tanzania, the President expressed his deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to his counterpart, the Government and the people of Norway for an irreparable loss to the Kingdom.
“As we join the people of Norway in mourning the victims of the two incidents, we strongly condemn such terrorist attacks on innocent people, and pray to the almighty God to rest the souls of the deceased in eternal peace and give strength to the bereaved families,” the President said in his statement.
While wishing the survivors to get well soon, the President also wishes to express again, his country’s solidarity and deepest condolences to the people of Norway.
