Over 310 SGA Security officers graduated on July 24th 2017, after successfully undergoing training by police instructors. While officiating the pass out ceremony held in their Ada Estate CIT offices, the Kinondoni RPC, Suzan Kaganda , congratulated the largest and the oldest private security company for being role models in embracing collaboration with police force.

She called upon the officers graduating to translate the training into practice and remain forthright, trustworthy and steadfast in performing their duties. She thanked SGA for giving her full support during her tenure and called upon other security companies to collaborate with the force to reduce crime rate. The step she took in building capacity for private security officers was in line with the force's BRN with four-pronged objectives that included effective policing, collaboration with partners and resource mobilization.
The course covered the role of security officers in community policing and was offered in modules covering one week per cohort of 15 officers each. Subjects covered include the use of firearms, fundamental human rights, community policing, customer care, scene of crime, beat duties and power of arrest. 246 officers came from SGA Cash In Transit department and 70 from guarding section.

SGA Security Managing Director expressed gratitude on behalf of the company and promised collaboration with the force as they have always done. He pointed out that the company provides patrol vehicles to police during long holidays and fuel or repairs to police vehicles. They donated two motorcycles last year to support patrols of police.
Mr Sambu explained that SGA takes training seriously and vetting of officers before they're deployed. These two activities continues throughout the tenure of staff. He pointed that many of their employees have worked with SGA for so many years. SGA created Club20 for staff members who have worked for over 20 years with them and they currently have 58 members, 14 of which have worked for over 30 years.
