We Celebrate You!

To our Customers and Partners,

Today we kick off the well-known International Customer Service Week celebrations. The theme for this year is to “Celebrate Service” with the aim of appreciating service providers across the world that have poured their time, care, and compassion into the work of serving customers.

It is with this premise that I am honored to take this opportunity on behalf of the Managing Director, the Board of Directors, the Management Committee and all the employees of Absa Bank Tanzania Limited, to say “Thank You”, for your continued contribution which has helped us to grow into a better bank. We wouldn’t be successful as a business without you.

In commemoration of this year’s Customer Service Week, we want to assure our esteemed customers that we are committed in making your banking experience with us the most pleasant, in line with our customer centric vision of being “obsessed with our customers”. We continue to deploy multiple solutions, products, services that meet and surpass your needs.

The voice of our customers is extremely important to us; hence we have embedded multiple feedback channels and solutions that allows us to capture feedback in real time across all our touchpoints. This has helped us identify and address key pain points with the aim of redefining the overall customer experience.

Our goal is “Designing for the customer of the FUTURE, today” hence we have built a strong management structure and continue to build strong relationships with regulatory frameworks to allow us to serve you in the most innovative and convenient way possible. Personalization of services, customer milestones celebrations, 99% system & channels availability which is way above the market average, enhanced conventional digital channels with self-support capabilities and lifestyle banking programs, are among the few of our success stories.

We commit to provide safe solutions to create speed and efficiency in service delivery to our customers. Few months ago, we successfully launched the first QR Code ATM withdrawal in Tanzania; our customers can now withdraw money from any Absa ATM with the Absa Mobile Banking App using a QR code to bank safely and simply with contactless and card-free cash withdrawals. That means less risk of card loss, cloning or skimming, safer no-touch transactions, and faster withdrawals. All these come at no additional cost to the customer.

As we continue our journey to becoming a digitally led bank, we recently deployed an innovative queue management system in our branches that uses WhatsApp. Our branch queue management solution is designed to improve customer experience by allowing them to bank with us on their convenience while managing their time effectively.

Absa's purpose is to bring possibilities to life and in a bid to address the changing needs and growing importance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the country, we have revamped our SME proposition. This goes to show how important SME are to the country, and as such, important to us at Absa Bank Tanzania.

We have also partnered with Visa to introduce a debit card that will target businesses in Tanzania. These cards are linked to the business’ transaction account, aiming to help businesses track and manage operational expenses efficiently, access cost saving benefits and make easy and secure online transactions. This is more than a payment tool, it’s a card that puts the business owner in control of their transactions and expenses. The business owner will avoid many cashflow management hurdles and all this can be detailed on the business monthly statement so that they are able to know how much money was spent and for what.

We continue to enhance our online platform integrating financial operations including payments and salary processing to support day to day activities for our corporate customers. We recently have introduced Absa Access – a single sign-on platform that lets our corporate clients manage their finances with speed and intelligence. With greater visibility and an intuitive view of business portfolio, Absa Access enables our clients to take charge of their financial world; so they can be more responsive and better able to make informed decisions to drive their business growth across the continent.

We invite you all to take full advantage of our bouquet of products as we remain focused on ensuring we bring your possibilities to life.

As part of our commitment of being a responsible corporate citizen this year we sponsored community support in the Kili-marathon by donating 2,500 trees which have been planted along water sources in Kilimanjaro. Our staff volunteered to donate blood for the CCBRT’s maternal ward as part of spreading love during this year’s Valentine’s Day. We also sponsored the Dar City Marathon 2022 held at Mnazi Mmoja grounds in support of promoting healthy lifestyle to our staff, customers, and the public.

To our diverse base of services suppliers, thank you for your continued support in ensuring we live up to our promise to customers. You forge important partnership, and your consistency, resilience and continuity has played an essential part in our purpose of Bringing Possibilities to Life.

As we continue to focus on building long-term banking relationships with you, we thank you for being part of our bank’s growth and we value your support and continued trust in us, which remains the true foundation of our success.

We are extremely honored to serve you today and in the future.

We Listen. We Understand. We Care.
