The Climate Service Adaptation Programme Stakeholders’ Consultation Workshop on Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS) in Tanzania is taking place in the United Republic of Tanzania from 7th-9th 2014, at Giraffe Ocean View Hotel Dar es Salaam. The GFCS Programme aims to build resilience in disaster risk management, food security, nutrition and health in the country.

The programme is being supported by the Royal Government of Norway starting with Tanzania and Malawi. This is to help African countries adapt to changing climate and to increase resilience to droughts and floods and other weather and climate extremes.

This Programme is a mult-agencies and cross sectoral initiative involving seven (7) partner organizations, these include the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), CGIAR Research Programme on Climate Change Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS); Centre for International Climate and Enviromental Research- Oslo (CICERO); Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI); International Federation of Red Cross and Crescent Societies (IFRC); World Food Programme (WFP); and World Health Health Organization (WHO).
