WWF-Tanzania has donated a new boat engine YAMAHA40 HP to Selous Game Reserve and will be used at Mtemere Wildlife Camp. The ceremony took place at WWF Tanzania Country office in Dar es Salaam on Friday May 30, 2014.
The engine, handed over by WWF Tanzania’s Conservation Manager, Mr. Gerald Kamwenda on behalf of the Country Director was received by Mr. Gregory Andrea Kalokole, Senior Game Warden from Selous Game Reserve on behalf of the Project Manager. Witnessing the event were Mr. Georgy Makumbule from WWF Tanzania and Mr. Lucas Senoya Goroi, Game Warden for Selous Game Reserve.
“This boat engine has been purchased through WWF-Sweden funding and will go a long way in supporting law enforcement activities at Mtemere Wildlife Camp in the Selous Game Reserve”, said Mr. Makumbule
On his part, Mr. Kalokole said he was very thankful to WWF for their generous support that came through Ruvuma Landscape Programme at the right time. He promised to exercise great care for the engine so that it lasts for a long time.
