East African Community Headquarters ,Arusha, 15th September 2014: The 29th meeting of the EAC Council of Ministers is currently ongoing at the EAC headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.

The EAC Council of Ministers is being conducted through the session of Senior Officials 15th -17th September 2014; the session of the Co-ordination Committee i.e. Permanent Secretaries 18th -19th September 2014 and climax with the Ministerial session on 20th September 2014.

The High level decision making Policy Organ of the Community will be expected to consider among others; report on the implementation of previous decisions of the Council; report of the Office of the Secretary General; Planning and Infrastructure; Social Sectors; Customs and Trade Matters and Political Federation.

In addition, the meeting will consider report of Human Resources Matters as well as  EAC Organs and Institutions.

Addressing the Senior Officials during the officially opening of the Senior Officials session, EAC Deputy Secretary General in charge of Finance and Administration, Mr Jean Claude Nsengiyumva echoed the critical role the Council of Ministers plays in the EAC integration process. He reiterated the importance of the meeting as specified in the agenda and wished the meeting fruitful deliberations.
