Sir Jayantilal Keshavji "Andy" Chande KBE a.k.a Andy Chande (born 7th  of  May,  1928) who was a prominent Tanzanian businessman, philanthropist and a freemason,  has passed away at the Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi, Kenya early on Thursday  morning today. What a great life !   Sir Andy, Dar es salaam and Tanzania have a lot to thank you for.
Among his many services to the nation, he was for a long time chairman of the board of the TANGANYIKA STANDARD (newspapers) limited,  one i worked for. He was also a great personal friend. At one time, he was a board member of 28 big firms like the RAILWAYS, HARBOURS, KIO LTD etc. 
He will be remembered and missed for a very long time. 
 May his soul rest in peace.
